Teilweise sind uralte Erweiterungen und Plugins installiert, auch dort kann etwas haken.
Ob die verschiedenen Installationsversuche von Canon nur anzeigefehler von etrecheck sind oder hast du tatsächlich ein Dutzend mal versucht da das zu installieren?

Wahrscheinlich benötige ich etwas Hilfe. Nachdem ich auf meinem MBP 13" early 2011 immer wieder den Beatchball sah, startete ich das MBP mal im sicheren systemstarr. Danach einen Neustart und liess Etrecheck ein zweites mal durchlaufen.

Minuten 7:44 sind etwas ungewöhnlich und der Diagnosebericht beunruhigt etwas.
Gerne nehme ich entsprechende Tipps was dies sei könnte entgegen.

Da sind keinerlei Probleme zu erkennen, außer einem Bug in Apples Systemdienst für "proaktive Vorschläge".

Meine Befürchtung war bereits, dass die HDD so langsam über den Jordan geht. Die 4 GB RAM sind nicht sehr üppig, bin ich mir absolut bewusst.

P.S. generelle Frage: macht es Sinn weitere Massnahmen zu starten? Denke da an den AHT. Oder das FPDP.
Backup ist selbstverständlich vorhanden. Etrecheck zeigt doch bestmmt nicht alles an das so im Argen liegen könnte.

Man müsste erst einmal wissen, was das Problem ist. "Beachball" bedeutet nur, dass das Programm, das zu dem Fenster gehört, das sich unmittelbar unter dem Mauszeiger befindet, seit mehr als 4 Sekunden nicht auf Benutzereingaben reagiert. Je nach Situation kann das völlig normal sein.

Das große Missverständnis ist leider, dass EtreCheck nach Problemen suchen würde. Die einzige Aufgabe des Programms ist das kompakte Sammeln von Informationen über einen Mac. Dabei werden Auffälligkeiten markiert. Diese Auffäligkeiten müssen aber noch lange keine Probleme oder Fehler sein.

Das Beatchballing ist bei beinahem allem zu sehen. Soll heissen: Wenn och ein Programm starte geht es lange (hüpft lange im Dock). Aich beim Starten der Sysemeinstellungen, Safari etc. .

@Macbeatnik Mit einem Testbenutzer habe ich es noch nicht versucht.
Das MBP wird eben eher selten genutzt. Die Mediathek pflege ich, die backups vom iPad und iPhone sind in iTunes.


Im Moment bin ich am MBP und wie es der Vorführeffekt will, läuft es im Moment normal. So normal wie immer. Heisst: Safari ist offen mit 8 Tabs. Und starten der Systemeinstellung (Test) dauerte für meine Begriffe etwas lang. Lang ist auch relativ. wären geschätzt nicht gestoppt ca. 8-10 Sekunden.

Aber auch das nur wenn ich sie einmalig starte, Wieder geschlossen und nochmals geöffnet geht es schnell.
Bisher ging ich davon aus, dass dieses Verhalten den mageren 4 GB RAM geschuldet sind.

P.S. Das alles im Moment ohne Beatchball. hmm....*grummel*

Safari ist offen mit 8 Tabs.

8 Tabs sind zuviel für nur 4 GByte RAM. Auch was Du weiter beschreibst, deutet darauf hin, dass der Rechner ab einer bestimmten Menge gleichzeitig geöffneter Programme anfängt, Speicher auszulagern, was ihn dann natürlich verlangsamt.

Weil der Rechner beim obigen EtreCheck erst 8 Minuten lief und Safari offenbar nicht gestartet war, wurde das im Bericht nicht sichtbar. Dieser Bericht war also nicht repräsentativ für Dein typisches Nutzungsverhalten.

@Marcel Bresink Nein als ich Etrecheck laufen liess waren alle Programme zu Das mache ich in der Regel immer so.
Grundsätzlich habe ich entweder den Safari offen oder mail oder ein Programm. Also in äusserst seltenen Fällen sind mehr Programme offen. Weil ich weiss, dass die 4GB RAM etwas mager sind.

Dieser Bericht war also nicht repräsentativ für Dein typisches Nutzungsverhalten.

Eigentlich ist der Bericht schon repräsentativ. Ausser, dass eben Safari zu war.

P.S. Und das Etrecheck Logfile ist nach einem sicheren Systemstart erfolgt.

Noch ein kurzes Feedback ergänzend zum Logfile:
MBP anschliessend mal mit CMD & R gestartet und mit dem FPDP die Platte übrprüft. Wurden keine Probleme festgestellt. Anschliessend nochmals ein Etrecheck laufen lassen, mit dem Ergebnis, dass es so um die 8 Minuten dauerte. Dabei war weder Safari noch ein Programm offen

Weshalb es also 7-8 Minuten benötigt ist für mich nicht erkennbar. War aber früher etwas schneller.

wende mich mal an Euch weil mein MacBook Pro 17" Early 2011 in letzter Zeit sehr oft den Beachball bringt.
Habe Etrecheck herunter geladen und laufen lassen. Ergebnis: Below Average bis teilweise Poor.
Das hört sich nicht gut an. Mit dem Rest der Meldungen kann ich leider nichts anfangen.
Normalerweise ist auch noch Lightroom CC installiert. Hatte es testweise mal deinstalliert. Leider ohne Änderung.

Würde mir hier mehr Arbeitsspeicher gravierend helfen? Installiert sind 2x4 GB
Oder komme ich um eine Neuanschaffung nicht herum?

Das sieht auch soweit OK aus. Allerdings solltest du

beobachten. Nutze den Rechner z.B. eine Woche und prüfe, ob sich dieser Wert erhöht. Falls ja, solltest du die Platte tauschen. Grundsätzlich ist es ohnehin eine gute Idee, über eine SSD nachzudenken. Damit würde der Rechner viel schneller laufen.

RAM ist wenig, aber damit scheint es keine Probleme zu geben.

Es gibt noch eine Fehlerquelle, die möglicherweise in Frage kommt. Es ist das Festplattenkabel. Aber darauf kann man nur spekulieren. Oft sieht man dies allerdings an den SMART-Werten. Dies ist hier nicht der Fall.

Hallo, Vielen Dank für die Infos.

Wenn ich das richtig sehe, würde ich mit ungefähr 300 - 350 € den Arbeitsspeicher verdoppeln und eine 512 GB SSD einbauen können. Jetzt stellt sich mir die Frage, inwieweit sich das lohnt. Oder anders ausgedrückt: Wie lange profitiere ich z. B. von neuen OSx? Wann wird mein Gerät nicht mehr unterstützt? Jetzt einmal von allen anderen Unzulänglichkeiten wie etwaige Hardwaredefekte abgesehen. Es wurde schon zum Ende des damaligen AppleCare die Hauptplatine getauscht.
Eine Neubeschaffung, dann allerdings nur 15", mit einem Gerät aus 10.2017, die ja z. Zt. vergleichsweise "günstig" z.B. bei Gravis oder Cyberport angeboten werden, liegt dann bei ca. 2300 €. Bei Inzahlungnahme bei Gravis würde ich 670 € bekommen lt. OnlineRechner.
Jetzt ist guter Rat teuer.

RAM muss nicht zwingend, es sei denn, du machst Bildbearbeitung oder ähnliches. Und die SSD kannst du auch selbst kaufen und einbauen. Wie lange der Rechner noch unterstützt wird, weiß ich natürlich auch nicht ;/
