Tonstudio/Audio - Apple iMac A1419 18,3 Late 2017 i7 4,2 GHZ - Freeze und Reboot Probleme

Liebe Community,
vor ein paar Monaten habe ich mir einen gebrauchten Apple iMac A1419 18,3 Late 2017 i7 4,2 GHZ 27" mit 32GB RAM gekauft.
Ich benutze den Rechner als Tonstudio-Rechner mit einigen VST-Plugins, 2-3 Audio Interfaces uvm. Betriebssystem ist High-Sierra (ist einigen Plugins geschuldet die danach nicht mehr unterstützt werden).
Vor diesem Kauf hatte ich einen identischen iMac, jedoch mit dem kleinen Prozessor (i5, 3,4 GhZ glaube ich) den ich quasi mit dem damaligen Flaggschiff austauschen wollte. Der alte Rechner lief mit quasi identischer Konfiguration einwandfrei, ich hatte die aktuellen Probleme damit nicht. Mit dem neuen i7 habe ich jedoch das Problem, dass während dem Arbeiten plötzlich und ohne Vorwarnung mein Rechner einfriert (es geht garnichts mehr) oder die Sanduhr (drehender Ball) erscheint. In beiden Fällen startet der Rechner dann nach einer gewissen Zeit neu und es kommt das "Problembericht an Apple Senden"-Fenster.

Ich vermute es hat irgendwas mit meinem Audio-Programm / DAW (Cockos Reaper) oder irgendwelchen Plugins zu tun. Doch wie finde ich das konkret heraus? Ich habe schon den ein oder anderen Lizenz-Dongle (z.B. Waves USB Stick oder iLok) entfernt und trotzdem scheint das Problem auf zu tauschen.
Auch habe ich den RAM von ursprünglich 40 (16,16,4,4) auf nur 2x 16 reduziert oder die Steckplätze getauscht, bringt auch nichts.
Lediglich wenn ich Audio-Projekte habe die wirklich sehr sehr schlank sind, ich glaube dann habe ich keine Probleme. Aber das ist halt auch nicht die Realität und wie gesagt, früher hatte ich einen weniger Leistungsstarken Rechner mit weniger RAM und kleinerem Prozessor und hatte mit solch großen Projekten keinerlei Probleme.

Gibt es Software oder Analysetools die ich nutzen könnte wo genau sagen was diesen Freeze verursacht hat?

Cockos Reaper empfiehlt mindestens 10.14 für sein Programm. Du hast 10.13.

Die wahrscheinlichste Ursache ist - so leid es mir tut - ein Haarriss im Logic Board.

kein Softwarefehler sollte einen Reboot eines Macs auslösen, von daher fürchte ich auch, dass ein Hardwareproblem vorliegt. Schau mal, ob Du Kernel-Panic-Diagnoseberichte findest und poste die hier wie beschrieben. Wenn man keinen findet, dann heißt das in der Regel, dass der Fehler so gravierend war, dass der Computer nicht einmal mehr Zeit oder die Ressourcen hatte, ihn zu schreiben, d.h. richtig katastrophal. Könnte auf einen Speicherfehler hindeuten - dafür gibt es Speichertests, die man sehr lange (1-3 Tage) laufen lassen sollte. Memtest86+ z.B. Haarriss glaube ich eher nicht, es sei denn der iMac ist extrem misshandelt worden - er ist ja im Prinzip ordentlich eingepackt, da sollte nichts passieren, es sei denn, jemand hat herumgefuhrwerkt. Aber Grafikkartendefekte oder überhitzte und geschädigte CPUs gibt es auch zuhauf.
Aber erst mal würde ich auf
-Arbeitsspeicher auf Stabilität und Bitfehler testen, so gut es geht
-die System-SSD auf Wear/Lifetime Expectancy checken (SMART)

Kurze Rückmeldung; da ich in der Konsole nur Kauderwelsch verstehe und keine alten Absturzberichte finden kann, versuche ich gerade einen Absturz herbeizuführen - jedoch seit einigen Tagen ohne Erfolg

Hallo!

Ich hatte wenig mit dem Rechner gemacht, aber bisher lief er beim Arbeiten einwandfrei. Nun bin ich an ein weiteres Problem erinnert worden; und zwar macht mein Mac bei einer längeren Pause einen Re-Boot (Sleep-Wake-Failure). Vielleicht hängt das mit o.G. Fehlerbeschreibung auch zusammen? Anbei der Fehlerbericht nach dem Neustart:

Meine Externe Festplatte für Timemaschine war zwar an nach dem Neustart, wird aber nicht erkannt.

Könnte die Externe Platte das Problem aller Übel sein?

den Fehlerbericht vom 29.10. habe ich mir angeguckt - keine Ahnung, was das sein soll, aber ein Kernel Panic war das nicht (ich kann's jedenfalls nicht lesen).

Danke, es ist nicht das einzige usb gerät was angeschlossen war , aber das einzige was zu dem Zeitpunkt des Absturzes wohl aktiv war. Ich habe noch einen usb hub (mit Audio Lizenz dongles und ein Audio Interface angeschlossen, es lief aber nur die Festplatte aktiv in dem Moment

und im Post vorher vermutest Du selbst einen Sleep-Wake-Zusammenhang. Es gibt Geräte, die mit dem Schlaf nicht gut zusammenarbeiten, von daher wirst Du strukturiert testen müssen: Treten Abstürze mit der Festplatte auf, wenn der Hub nicht angeschlossen ist? Oder nur, wenn der Hub dran ist? Wenn letzteres, ist die nächste Frage, ob es auch alleine abstürzt (ohne Festplatte, aber mit Hub, wenn Sleep und Wake).
