So mein Fazit:

Ich finde die Tableiste aus einem Gedankengrund sehr praktisch (um mal gegen den Strom hier zu schwimmen!): Der bisher ungenutzte Platz oben in der Adressleiste wurde damit optimal genutzt. Das heißt mehr Platz für den Content.
Ein wirklich nerviger Bug mit JavaScript ist jetzt auch draußen (weiß nicht, ob es das JavaUpdate war - denke aber wohl eher, dass es daran liegt )... damit funktioniert meine in der Entwicklung befindliche HP endlich auch anstandslos soweit mit Safari

Sehr positiv: Stand funktioniert bei mir (nicht alles getestet!) immer noch top. Insbesondere der . und , -Shortcut für die Tabs. Ich hab sowieso nie auf einen Tab geklickt! Der Weg mit der Maus ist mir da zu weit

Auch positiv finde ich, dass bei einem neuen Tab gleich die schöne Übersicht der meist besuchtesten Seiten kommt. Das habe ich nach nur 1 Minute schon in meinen Workflow eingebaut gehabt

Obwohl ich immer nicht so viel von Betas halte (also im produktiven Bereich sowieso nicht) bleibt diese Beta bei mir erst mal drauf - bis die ersten Haarsträubenden Bugs kommen

Auch wenn es unrealistisch war, so hoffte ich doch im Geheimen auf eine Erweiterungsschnittstelle wie in Firefox oder zukünftig auch Google Chrome. Es gibt ja anscheinend einen Bedarf nach Funktionalität, die der Browser nicht standardmäßig mitbringt. Leider ist die momentane Situation mit den Input Managern suboptimal. Jede auch noch so geringfügige Änderung an Safari bringt jedesmal die Gefahr mit, dass diese inoffizielle Erweiterung nicht mehr funktioniert oder der Browser instabil wird. Zumal ist diese Frickelei vermutlich alles andere als angenehm für die Benutzer.

Ohne die Beta bisher getestet zu haben, so fehlt mir doch im Gegensatz zu Chrome die Eigenschaft, dass die Tabs bei maximiertem Fenster bis an den oberen Bildschirmrand reichen. Dies hat (wie die Menüleiste selbst) den Vorteil, dass man bekanntlich nicht mehr vertikal zielen muss, um einen Reiter auszuwählen. Bei OS X ist dieser Platz halt schon reserviert. Die minimalistische UI von Chrome wirkt auf den ersten Blick weiterhin überzeugender und durchdachter als die von Safari.

@Erunno neben InputManagern gibt es auch noch Plugins für Safari (z.B. ist Clicktoflash ein Plugin) und das geht wunderbar.

@Erunno neben InputManagern gibt es auch noch Plugins für Safari (z.B. ist Clicktoflash ein Plugin) und das geht wunderbar.

Was ist da technisch der Unterschied? Gibt es eine offizielle und dokumentierte (!) Plugin-Schnittstelle, mit der die Entwickler sowohl Funktionalität als auch Änderungen an der Chrome vornehmen können?

An alle:

Wäre interessant, wenn jemand über den Speicherverbrauch nach längerer Benutzung schreiben könnte. Einer meiner größten Kritikpunkte an Safari war schon immer, dass der Browser dazu neigt, nach mehreren Stunden intensiver Nutzung (mit viel Flash, AJAX, Bildern und dem ganzen Pipapo) sich jenseits der 400 MB ansiedelte, und diese auch nie wieder freigab. Ich hege schon seit langem die Hoffnung, dass eine neue Version dieses Manko beheben wird.
