Vor kurzem änderte Apple die Entwickler-Richtlinien für Apple Pay. Die Änderungen passen gut zur kommenden, ruhigen Zeit des Jahres – ab sofort können Apps auch Spenden via Apple Pay sammeln.
So können Entwickler ab sofort auch direkt Kreditkartentransaktionen innerhalb ihrer Apps durch Apple Pay verarbeiten. Dafür müssen die Anbieter zuerst einen Antrag auf Gemeinnützigkeit bei Apple stellen. Bisher konnten Entwickler nur direkt Spenden zur Unterstützung der Applikation annehmen, dafür wurde aber die übliche 30% Abgabe an Apple fällig.
Approved nonprofits may fundraise directly within their own apps using Apple Pay, provided those fundraising campaigns adhere to all App Review Guidelines. These apps must disclose how the funds will be used, abide by all required local and federal laws, and make appropriate tax receipts available to donors. Nonprofit platforms that connect donors to other nonprofits must ensure that every nonprofit listed in the app has also gone through the nonprofit approval process.
