[iMac] Tausch der Festplatte auf SSD

Moin alle zusammen.
Was muß ich beim Tausch der Festplatte beachten. Vorsichtig öffnen das ist klar.
Genauer meine ich beim ersten Starten. Kann ich aus dem Backup direkt wieder aufspielen oder muß ich vorher noch was bestimmtes eintragen in der Konsole?

* Je nach Mac, musst du dich um den Temperatursensor der alten Festplatte kümmern, damit hinterher nicht durchgehend die Lüfter auf Hochleistung laufen

* Bevor das Backup zurückgespielt werden kann, muss die SSD meines Wissens nach erst noch partitioniert und formatiert werden (Partitionsschema: GUID, Format: macOS extended journaled oder APFS, je nach dem was du haben möchtest und welches System zurückgespielt werden soll. Für alles vor High Sierra: macOS extended journaled). Wenn du ein bootfähiges Time Machine Backup hast, kannst du von dort das Festplattendienstprogramm für diese Aufgabe nutzen. Alternativ die Internet Recovery (so vorhanden), ein separates macOS auf einer externen Festplatte oder ein bootfähiger macOS-Installations-USB-Stick.

Der Grund ist, mein Mac wird so langsam und träge. Immer öfter taucht der "Sat.1 Ball" auf

Auch wenn die Langsamkeit des Rechners nicht zwingend auf die Festplatte zurückgehen muss, ist so eine SSD schon eine schöne Sache.

Wenn's dir aber eigentlich darum geht die Probleme mit deinem Rechner zu lösen, kannst du dir mal EtreCheck (https://etrecheck.com) herunterladen oder wahlweise die Festplatte mit einem Smart-Utility (https://www.volitans-software.com) prüfen und jeweils das Ergebnis hier posten.

Das könnte allerdings auch ein Softwareproblem sein, dann wäre zum Beispiel das Rückspielen des Backups kontraproduktiv, auf Grund der SSD würde der Rechner dann zwar schneller laufen, aber vermutlich auf Grund des Softwareproblems nicht die wahre Bandbreite an Geschwindigkeitszuwachs erreichen.

Ich bin wahrlich kein Experte für diese Dinge, aber das (Health: Failing) sieht mir doch schwer danach aus, als würde die Platte im Sterben liegen.

Sieht so aus.

Anleitung zum Umbau sollte sich bei ifixit.com finden lassen. Bezüglich Auswahl der SSD gibt's hier (Ellen) lange Threads zum Thema, die man durchforsten kann.

Und wie gesagt, bei älteren Macs musste man sich um den Temperatursensor der Festplatte kümmern, damit die Kiste hinterher nicht einen Hubschrauber nachmacht. Ob das auf dein Gerät zutrifft, kann ich allerdings nicht sagen.

Anleitung habe ich schon gefunden, mit Video. Sieht leicht aus, aber man kann auch was kaputt machen. Kamera zum Bespiel.
Zutrauen würde ich mir das, ich habe früher immer meine Rechner selber repariert oder komplett zusammen gebaut. Aber noch nie ein Mac.

Es handelt sich um einen iMac Late 2013. also um die Slim-Version. Den zu öffnen ist schon eine Hausnummer für sich und nicht vergleichbar mit anderen Rechnern oder den iMacs vor 2011. Das Display ist zusammen mit der abdeckenden Glasscheibe eingeklebt und um es auszubauen muss man die Dichtung entweder aufschneiden oder mit einem Heißluftfön weich machen. Wenn man das noch nie gemacht hat ist die Gefahr groß etwas irreparabel zu beschädigen. Vielleicht solltest du dir wirklich überlegen, ob du das doch nicht lieber von einem erfahrenen Servicetechniker machen lässt. Zumal du dann sowohl auf Einbau als auch für das verbaute Gerät Anspruch auf Garantie hast.
