Safari - Tabgruppen bringen Safari zum Abstürzen

Hallo an Alle,
ich habe ein lästiges Problem mit Safari.
Ich habe einige Tabgruppen angelegt. Schließe ich ein Fenster, in welchem eine dieser Tabgruppe aktiv ist, stürzt Safari ab.
Habe schon einiges durchgespielt, das Verhalten ist reproduzierbar.
Beispiel unten:
Schließe ich das Fenster mit der Tabgruppe "LEGO" stürzt Safari ab. Aber: Wechsle ich vor dem Schließen auf "3 Tabs" oder zur Startseite, also keine gespeicherte Tabgruppe, funktioniert Safari ganz normal. Richte ich mir in einem neuen Fenster die gleichen Tabs zurecht, so wie in der Gruppe, aber ohne sie als Gruppe zu speichern, dann funktioniert Safari ebenfall problemlos.
Ich habe auch schon mit anderen, willkürliche Seiten diverse Test gemacht, das Verhalten ist immer wie oben beschrieben.
Auch die Gruppe löschen und neu anlegen brachte keine Verbesserung.
Z. Zt. kann ich nur mit dem Workaround leben, vor dem Schließen von der Tabgruppe zur Startseite bzw. zu Tabs ohne Gruppe zu wechseln.
Das Problem tritt erst seit wenigen Tagen/Wochen auf. Ich vermute seit dem Update auf Safari 17.5.

Abgesehen von der Keule macOS von Grund auf neu zu installieren, kannst du einen zweiten Benutzer anlegen, um zu schauen, ob dieser das gleiche Problem hat.

Hallo,
habe einen Test-Benutzer angelegt. Leider bei Safari das gleiche Verhalten wie in meinem Account.
Muss wohl davon ausgehen, daß das Problem tiefer steckt.
Bin am Überlegen, ob ich Safari und alle dazugehörenden Ordner in den Libraries (User und System) löschen und danach Safari neu installieren soll. Ich synce Safari über die iCloud, was hätte ich dabei zu verlieren?

Bin am Überlegen, ob ich Safari und alle dazugehörenden Ordner in den Libraries (User und System) löschen und danach Safari neu installieren soll.

Das ergibt keinen Sinn, denn Safari ist mit mehreren voneinander unabhängigen Verfahren gegen jede Veränderung geschützt. Wenn mit den Dateien von Safari etwas nicht stimmen würde, würde macOS das merken und den Start mit einer Meldung verweigern.

Das Beispiel zeigt iOS und nicht macOS. Bei macOS kann man zwar zusätzliche kostenlose Apps (wie Garageband und Pages) herunterladen, aber keine Apps, die zum Lieferumfang von macOS gehören.

Safari wäre zwar eine Ausnahme, denn es ist der einzige Fall, wo eine zu macOS gehörende Komponente unabhängig von macOS aktualisiert werden darf, aber trotzdem konnt man nicht so einfach an einen Installer, wenn man nicht Beta-Tester ist.

Zurück zum eigentlichen Problem: Um zu ermitteln, warum Safari abstürzt,

• öffne mit gedrückter Optionstaste "Gehe zu > Library" im Finder,
• gehe in Library zu "Logs > DiagnosticReports",
• und suche dort den letzten Eintrag nach dem Muster "Safari_Datum-Uhrzeit_Computername". Falls der Fehler bereits länger zurückliegt, auch im Unterordner "Retired".

Falls vorhanden, enthält diese Datei einen technischen Bericht, warum Safari beendet wurde, und hat entweder die Endung ".crash" oder ".ips". Du kannst den Inhalt der Datei hier zwischen CODE-Tags posten, es sei denn, sie ist extrem lang.

Es könnte z.B. sein, dass Du eine Safari-Erweiterung verwendest, die mit der aktuellen Version nicht mehr kompatibel ist.

OK, der Bericht sagt, dass das Betriebssystem einen Speicherverwaltungsfehler erkannt hat. Safari ist dabei, den Speicher eines "Titled Frame" (ein rechteckiger verwalteter Bildschirmbereich mit Beschriftung, wahrscheinlich ein Tab) freizugeben, aber ein Element der grafischen Oberfläche hat noch eine "KVO"-Beziehung (ein Beobachten und Widerspiegeln aller Änderungen) zu diesem Frame offen, die vorher nicht abgemeldet wurde.

Das ist ein ganz simpler Programmierfehler und nach dem Bericht sieht es tatsächlich so aus, als wäre Safari selbst dafür verantwortlich. Ich fürchte, da kann man nichts machen, außer auf die nächste Version von Safari zu warten. (Falls Du irgendwelche Safari-Erweiterungen verwendest, wäre es aber trotzdem einen Test wert, die alle vorübergehend abzuschalten.)

Safari-Erweiterungen nutze ich nicht.

Mittlerweile gab es ein macOS-Update (12.7.6) und ein Safari-Update (17.6). Habe natürlich beide gemacht, zunächst aber keine Verbesserung.
Ein paar Tage später wurde mir nochmals das Safari-Update 17.6 angeboten. Sofort meine Safari-Version überürüft, ich hatte 17.6 installiert.
Wie auch immer, das Update abermals gemacht, und seitdem scheint Safari wieder zu funktionieren.
