Patient: Macbook Pro 2009 nach Plattentausch instabil

Habe hier einen Patienten meiner Schwester:

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010), 10.6.8,

kürzlich habe ich ihre eine neue Festplatte eingebaut und das System geklont:
Seagate Momentus 750 GB, 7200 RPM (ST9750420AS) seither verhält sich der Rechner sehr komisch,
er stürzt ständig ab (Bildschirm schwarz, Tastaturbeleuchtung an, Festplatte läuft noch, nur mit Hardreset wieder zu beleben)

Meistens passiert es dann wenn man etwas Grafik ODER Stromintensiveres macht:
• QT Video abspielen
• Bild öffnen
• Youtube Video öffnen
• Lautstärke erhöhen
usw.

Ich bin fast überzeugt dass das u.a. mit der Umschaltung der Grafikmodi zutun hat,
habe auch mal in den Systemeinstellungen Energie sparen die Umschaltung deaktiviert,
dann wurde es nur noch schlimmer = mehr unkontrollierte Abstürze.

Ich werde mal einen SMC-Reset durchführen und schauen was passiert, ist das ratsam?
Testweise könnte man auch mal http://gfx.io/ installieren aber das läuft leider z.Zt. nur ab 10.7.x

Was kann man da noch machen um die Sache einzugrenzen?
Zieht die Seagate evtl. zuviel Strom wegen 7200rpm?

Hat die Moments eine aktuelle FW aufgespielt? Da gab es massive Probleme mit der FW der Moments unter OS X...

Die Momentus hat die Version 0001SDM5, (ist das die Problemfirmware?)
unter diesem Link wird Bespielsweise eine andere Firmware empfohlen:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/driverdetails?driverid=1M4YX ist das empfehlenswert zu machen,
kann man das Update unter OSX durchführen, sind die Daten dann gelöscht nach dem Update?

Immer ein BackUp machen...

Ja solltest die neuste FW drauf machen. Aber hier gilt das Gleiche wie bei jedem FW / BIOS Update. BackUp machen. Und die Hardware kann Schaden nehmen...

Gibt es dafür brauchbare Tools unter OSX, wird vermutlich eh über das Terminal dann gehen?

also auch nach einem weitere plattentausch gegen eine neuplatte sowie ausbau des akkus und anderen speichermodulen ist die situation gleichbleibend schlecht, der rechner geht immer einfach aus, woran kann es noch liegen?! hat noch jemand einen tipp?
