MB Pro sehr langsam - Hohe CPU-Auslastung verbunden mit Abstürzen

Hallo zusammen,

ich stelle seit einiger Zeit ein Problem mit meinem Macbook Pro Mitte 2010 fest. Zum einen empfinde ich das System subjektiv als sehr langsam, das Hochfahren dauert ewig lange, machmal sogar das Starten bspw. von Google Chrome oder auch Safari. Da ich zur Zeit sehr viele Fotos mit DxO Optics Pro 8 bearbeite, stört es hier sehr. Beim Blick in die Aktivitätsanzeige fällt auf, dass alleine dieses Programm teilweise zu einer CPU-Auslastung von 150% (?!?) führt. Es ist nun bereits 5-6 Mal passiert, dass der Laptop einfach abgestürzt ist, während ich mit DxO arbeite. Folgender Fehlerbericht wird danach geöffnet:

Ist das Macbook einfach zu schwach für solche Programme oder besteht dort ein Fehler? Gibt es Optimierungsmaßnahmen, die man am System durchführen kann? Und bringt es etwas, den Arbeitsspeicher auf 8GB zu erweitern und die HDD durch eine SSD auszutauschen?

Bei der 15"-Variante gibt es ein Problem mit dem diskreten nVidia-Grafikchip. Aber den hat das 13"-Modell ja nicht.

Nur weil es zu schwach ist, würde es nicht abstürzen. Es würde nur länger dauern. Aber evtl. wird das Gerät bei zu hoher Last zu warm. Eine Reinigung wäre in Erwägung zu ziehen.

Die aktuelle MacOS X-Version hat Du ja bereits (10.8.5), wie ich aus dem Trace sehen kann.

Stürzt es nur bei DXOOpticsPro8 ab oder noch bei anderen Programmen?

Es handelt sich um die 13" Version. Der Laptop wird schon ordentlich warm, wie wäre denn eine Reinigung durchzuführen?

Bislang ist es nur bei DxO abgestürzt, dieses ist jedoch auch das mit Abstand "ressourcen-hungrigste" Programm, welches ich zur Zeit benutze.
