Backup mit Time Machine kann nicht abgeschlossen werden

Liebe Community!

--> Ich habe meinen alten iMac (High Sierra) auf einen Refurbished (Ventura 13.0.1) mit dem Migrationsassistenten migriert. Soweit alles wunderbar über Nacht geschehen.
--> Nun wollte ich (mit der am alten iMac verwendeten externen Backup-Festplatte ) ein ein Time-Machine-Backup am neuen Imac erstellen. Das hat nicht funktioniert (siehe Titel dieses Themas). Daraufhin habe ich diese alte Backup-Festplatte neu formatiert und als Backupmedium integriert weil ich dachte, dass irgendwas nicht kompatibel ist. Ohne Erfolg.
--> Im nächsten Schritt habe ich auf Ventura 13.1 upgedatet.
--> Trotzdem läßt sich kein Backup erstellen. Die Festplatte wird im Festplattendienstprogramm und im Finder erkannt. Jedesmal wenn ich "jetzt Backup erstellen" drücke kommt im nächsten Augenblick die Meldung eingeblendet: "Time Machine konnte kein Backup auf Backup 2022_12 erstellen" und in den Systemeinstellungen erscheint beim Backup-Volume
4 TB verfügbar

Dazu ein rotes Rufzeichen
Es gibt aber kein Anzeichen, dass ein Backup läuft.

Meine Analyse: Festplatte in Ordnung. Fehler liegt im System?

Kann mir jemand helfen? Ohne Backup fühle ich mich sehr unwohl - und meine 2 TB Bilder nebst allen anderen Dateien auch.

Ich bin einen Schritt weiter. Ich habe auf dem Backupvolume "nur lesen"-Rechte. Deshalb kann kein Backup geschrieben werden.Keine Ahnung warum, keine Ahnung wie ändern.
Habe gestern mit dem Benutzer "install" (ist ein Admin) ein backup machen können. Aber als Alltags-User, der aber auch Administratorrechte hat, heißt es trotzdem "nur lesen" am Backupvolume.

(Der Benutzer "install" ist sehr alt, nie verwendet, aber diesmal doch hilfreich zur Analys gewesen.)

Wenn ich als "install", der offensichtlich mehr Rechte hat, die Informationen des Backupvolume aufrufe, kann ich ebenfalls nur lesen und es erscheint auch kein Schloss, das ich über mein Kennwort öffnen könnte um die Rechte zu ändern.

Sicher weißt du mehr über das Ändern von Rechten. In dieser Hoffnung: schönen 4. Adventsonntag

Ergänung: Als "install" erscheint an der anderen externen Festplatte "Bilder" bei den Informationen sehr wohl das Schloss, das ich auch öffnen kann. Aber dort passen die Rechte ohnehin: "schreiben und Lesen"

Das ist völlig normal. Du hast sowohl auf dem System-Volume als auch auf dem Backup-Volume immer nur "Nur-Lesen-"Rechte. Ansonsten könnte jede Malware Deine Datensicherung angreifen. Du darfst das auf gar keinen Fall ändern, aber das System würde die Änderung auch gar nicht zulassen.

Das ist ein Trugschluss. Es macht immer nur "Time Machine selbst" eine Datensicherung. Welcher Benutzer dabei gerade zufällig eine Bildschirmsitzung laufen hat, ist völlig egal.

Es muss ein komplett anderes Problem vorgelegen haben, das sich in der Zwischenzeit von selbst gelöst hat.

Leider hat sich das Problem nicht aufgelöst. Denn:

Tatsache bleibt: mit meinem stets verwendeten Account (mit dem ich diese Zeilen schreibe) geht es noch immer nicht. Gerade jetzt steht wieder rechts oben: "Versuche das Backup neu zu starten, wenn Backup 2022_12 verfügbar ist" und beim neurlichen Sart eines Backups: Time Machine konnte kein Backup auf Backup 2022_12 erstellen
Höllisch. Hier geht's, dort nicht.

Diese Meldung bedeutet, dass die Festplatte nicht angeschlossen, bzw. das Volume noch nicht bereit ist. Mit modernen Versionen von macOS läuft das wesentlich langsamer als mit älteren Time Machine-Fassungen. Es kann mehrere Minuten nach dem Anmelden dauern, bis das Volume überprüft und verfügbar ist. Oder hast Du die Platte ausgetauscht, bzw. umbenannt?

Kann das was mit Eigentümer zu tun haben?

Nein, die Funktion "Eigentümer ignorieren" konnte für Time Machine-Volumes noch nie eingeschaltet werden. Eigentümer des Volumes ist immer das Betriebssystem (Benutzer "root").

Jetzt sitze ich seit dem letzten Post (vor zehn Minuten) hier. Wenn ich nun ein Backup manuell anstoße, konnte Time machine kein Backup auf ... erstellen. Also die Platte ist da, aber ????

Soll ich prinzipiell diesen Alltagsbenutzer (mit Admin-Rechten) verlassen und auf meinen install-User wechseln? Der kann Backup - warum auch immer.

Du verrätst leider immer noch nicht, welche Fehlermeldung macOS bei Klick auf "(!)" liefert, bzw. ob "Backup 2022_12" ausgetauscht oder umbenannt wurde.

Wie oben schon erklärt, ist das nicht wirklich so. Es hilft nichts, wenn Du diese falsche Fährte andauernd wiederholst, statt nach der echten Ursache zu suchen.

Es kann höchstens indirekte Einflüsse geben, z.B. wenn ein Benutzer in seinem Account Dienste oder Programme startet, die die einwandfreie Funktion des Volumes verhindern.

Ich fasse zusammen:

--> Mein Standarduser kann kein Time Machine Backup erstellen, mit der bekannten Fehlermeldung. Sehrwohl aber mein Install-User. Regelmäßiger Userwechsel für ein Backup kann nicht der Sinn der Sache sein.

Um einen hilfreichen Fehlerhinweis zu bekommen:

1. Starte das Backup
2. Wenn die Fehlermeldung wieder kommt, führe folgendes im Terminal aus:

 log show --style syslog --last 30m --predicate 'senderImagePath contains[cd] "TimeMachine"' --info --debug

3. Poste den Output hier. Möglichst in CODE-Tags.

Vewrzeihe meine Nachlässigkeit.
Mein Problem ist seit einigen Tagen gelöst. Es war ein uralter User, der dieses Dilemma verursacht hat. Nach Löschung dieses Users, von dem ich nicht mehr weiß, wann und warum ich ihn angelegt habe, funktioniert TimeMachine plötzlich anstandslos.

Da ich seit etwa einem Jahr auch immer mal wieder Probleme mit TM habe: 3 - 4 Wochen funktionieren die Backups dann erhalte ich irgendwann die Meldung, dass das Backup seit x Tagen nicht erstellt werden konnte.
Vielleicht kann mir jemand mit den u.a. Angaben auf die Sprünge helfen, damit ich nicht mehr alle paar Wochen ein neues Backup erstellen muß.

Da ich seit etwa einem Jahr auch immer mal wieder Probleme mit TM habe: 3 - 4 Wochen funktionieren die Backups dann erhalte ich irgendwann die Meldung, dass das Backup seit x Tagen nicht erstellt werden konnte.
Vielleicht kann mir jemand mit den u.a. Angaben auf die Sprünge helfen, damit ich nicht mehr alle paar Wochen ein neues Backup erstellen muß.

Genau dieses Problem hatte ich auch mal. Ich glaube dazu gibt es hier auch einen Thread von mir. Leider habe ich nie herausbekommen, was dieser Fehler bedeutet, geschweige denn, ob und wie man ihn beheben kann.

Ich habe dann ein neues Backup angefangen. Immerhin trat der Fehler bei mir danach seitdem nicht mehr auf.

Sorry, dass ich da nicht viel helfen kann.
